Today I heard a man in the bus complaining to his wife :
“Can you believe it? We have to sit here in a crowded bus to get to the city. We can not afford a car and the government does not even give us enough money so we can go on vacation once a year. All these politicians are criminals”
OKEY…HOOOOLD ON. Excuse meeee?
We all live such a privileged life.
We have a home,where we can sleep and live
We have access to education
We have water to drink and food to eat…every day
We have access to medical services any time
All of our basic human rights are being respected
We have police officers and firemen who would risk their lives for us to be save
And you say the government doesnt do anything for us?
How about living in Namibia/Africa ?
Most of the people there have
no clear water to drink
no food to survive
no medical services
no schools
no homes
not even clothes!
and none of their human basic rights are in force…
a lot of woman get raped or/and circumsized there…they dont have any rights to stand up against a man if he misstreads her. You cant call the police there if you are in trouble..they dont even have a phone!
Kids starve there or die from illnesses
I am very thankful to live here. The government has always taken care of us. It always made sure, that I have everything I need AND MORE.
My family does not have much money. My dad cant even go to the dentist and have his teeth done, because we have no money for that. But I he had a serious medical illness, he would be taken care of…like all of us. And I am so thankful every day. I just started this blog 3 weeks ago…And yesterday I had 2500 visitors a day! I hope some day I will be able to make a living of this blog and help my family out and make my dream come true and move to California to study…and even if that wont work out I will still be thankful for every sip of clear water and for every bite of bread.

I agree, we are very privileged here in this country, however it does not excuse the way we partake in the atrocious terrorism around our world. Great Britain is responsible for alot of poverty and death.
I get so annoyed when I hear people complain about what they don’t have as well. Keep working hard and you will make it to Cali!

It’s true people are truly quick to complain and blame others. They should realize it could be worse.

You are so right! A lot of us take for granted the simple things like water and food and education, when there are millions of people that dying of starvation and drinking dirty contaminated water everyday.. People should learn to be grateful for the little things!

I am always thankful for what I have… my health, my friends, my imagination and my dreams. The rest is icing on the cake. We are very VERY lucky. Life is no picnic for most of the world.
same here! I am grateful for all the things I have too. People need to realize that how they want their lives to work out is ultimately up to themselves; they’ve gotta stop whining, ranting and blaming others for it.

I’m echoing the same sentiment here, but spot on. One of the downsides to living in such a privileged country is that many people are too spoiled to realize how good we actually do have it. I think we can recognize areas that we could improve on as a nation; unfortunately, most of it now depends on us to make changes that aren’t always as convenient as slapping on another bumper sticker- and that’s asking too much for many people.

I think the same. Some things could be better, of course – but this is no reason to make only the government responsible for all. To sit in a bus isn’t bad or embarrassing – a lot of people have to walk on their foots daily….

I cannot believe that someone would say something like that! I was homeless off and on for 7 years, and not once did I complain that the government didn’t give me enough money. We didn’t get vacations, we didn’t get new cars, we barely got enough to get by from day to day, and we never knew where our next meal was coming from. I was still better off than billions of people out there though! How ungrateful can people get?

I totally agree with you.People really don’t know what they have.We are rich and i’m so glad i wasn’t born in Africa.
Brilliantly said, Justina, I myself am struggling to keep me and my boys going but still make it and am thankful for what I have. And we certainly have a lot more than in some Third world countries. The choices here are too much and we have too many desires. So very true, I was reminding my daughter the other day(while she was complaining about eating her dinner) about how lucky she was to have things such as a warm cosy bed, plenty of food and so on. Afterward I thought “hey I should remember that to the next time I complain about not having enough work, or wanting a ute (pick-up)so I didn’t have to use a trailer on my car or whatever” I have some work, I have a car and trailer, my kids are healthy my wife loves me I am rich beyond measure.
